In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the law firm of Deeb, Petrakis, Blum & Murphy, P.C. announced that it has formed a partnership with the Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia through the organization’s Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (PVLA) program. Deeb, Petrakis, Blum & Murphy is the first law firm to partner with the Council to provide extensive firm resources pro bono to the PVLA program.

Business Journal
Deeb Petrakis was once again featured in The Turnaround Management Association's
Supplement in The Philadelphia Business Journal. The
2006 Supplement, published on May 26, contained articles and insights on recent
changes to the bankruptcy law and the current trends in the capital markets and
lending environment.
One of the articles featured in the supplement, Treatment
of Utilities Under New Bankruptcy Law: Bad News for Debtors, Good News for Utilities
and DIP Lenders, was written by Inez M. Markovich of
Deeb Petrakis. The article addresses the changes in the treatment of utilities
in corporate Chapter 11 cases introduced by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and
Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA) of 2005. For additional information on

Frank Murphy
Appointed to Board of Visitors of Temple University's College
of Engineering
Frank G. Murphy, Esq., has been named to the Board of Visitors of the College
of Engineering of Temple University. The Board consists of a group of alumni,
friends and industry leaders dedicated to promoting the College and advising
the College on academic issues, fund raising and other matters.
Frank, a partner at Deeb Petrakis, represents a variety of organizations, including
construction companies, banks and municipalities. Frank is a 1985 graduate of
Temple's College of Engineering and a 1986 graduate of Penn State, where he received
his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Frank also graduated Magna Cum
Laude from the Temple University School of Law in 1992.
