As an owner of Deeb Petrakis Blum & Murphy for over 15 years, Peter J. Deeb has more than two decades’ of trial experience. He serves as head of the Firm’s Workout Group and leads a team of attorneys focused on commercial litigation and transactional practice with an emphasis on complex commercial matters. Experience, combined with resources, drive and wisdom; Mr. Deeb offers organizations a strategic business advantage.
Mr. Deeb has extensive trial experience in commercial litigation and other forms of complex litigation including breach of contract, interference in contract, and fraud and lender liability. He is experienced in injunctive litigation including restrictive covenants in employment contracts, unfair competition, confessed judgments, replevin of collateral and conversion of confidential or proprietary information, as well as national and state certified class actions. Mr. Deeb is experienced in defending investigations by the Attorney General’s offices of numerous states, as well as defending litigation instituted by Attorney Generals’ offices regarding consumer protection statutes.
Mr. Deeb also represents financial institutions with respect to creditor’s
rights, including negotiation and documentation of workout agreements,
protection of collateral and replevin, deficiency litigation against
debtors and guarantors and disposition of collateral. He is experienced
in the documentation of multi-million dollar asset-based loans. Mr.
Deeb is also skilled in the review of warehouse lending agreements,
with respect to the sale or securitization of commercial paper, such
as lease agreements and mortgages.
He is experienced in all phases
of bankruptcy practice on behalf of creditors, including preparation
of involuntary petitions, development of structure for emergency
financing, debtor-in-possession financing, reorganization plans,
Section 363 sales, motions for relief from stay, adversarial proceedings,
retention of crisis managers, motions to convert and motions for
assignment of trustee.
